For New Year’s Eve, Dave and I decided to spend the weekend with our parttime children Metal Niece and Baseball Nephew. (Our 11-year-old niece and her 13-year-old brother, respectively.)
On Friday morning, Dave went and picked them up in Long Island and brought them to our house. We had lots of fun baking pecan pie and munching on Doritos. Metal Niece practiced her guitar and showed us all the cool stuff she’s learning at her guitar lessons (funded by her Metal Aunt and Uncle!). Baseball Nephew brought his suitcase of magic tricks and did several performances for us. Apparently, I’ve been keeping a lot of things behind my ear that I didn’t even know about.
There was some video-gaming; music playing; guitar strumming; drum-pad drumming; baking; cooking; eating; snacking; TV-watching (especially Motley Crue’s performance on The Tonight Show); and LOTS, and I mean LOTS, of movie watching, as you can see by the above list.
We’ve watched so many movies with them in the past year that we’re running out of movies to show them when they come over. Send suggestions!!!
