The Revolution

Monday, July 31st, 2006 at 8:44 am

I’ve been extremely busy this week. Not with work, not with house cleaning, not with important paperwork.

My priorities are much too straight for such mundane activities.

Nope, I’m busy with the revolution up in here … the karaoke revolution!

Ever since Dave and I got the Karaoke Revolution Party for our Xbox, we’ve been sequestered in our spare room singing ourselves hoarse with this game!!

We brought the Revolution to Dave’s sister’s house this weekend for a party. Dave and I were determined to annihilate the children in this game, and we totally did! On our first duet — “Call Me” by Blondie — we scored a perfect 50,000 points and earned the Platinum statuette for Best Duet!

Beat that, children!!!

It’s true though, my man and I made beautiful music together.

So, yeah, that’s what I’ve been up to when I’m not working or riding my bike. In less than 2 weeks, my Mama and Stepdad are coming in from Arizona for a visit; Metal Niece is also staying for a week, too. We’re all going to my Grandma’s 80th birthday party in two weeks.

I don’t think it’s about the points earned, but the heart and soul you put into your singing. The 11,395 points I earned on “Who Can It Be Now” is my proudest moment.

We don’t have an xBox, or anything similar, mainly because of my OCD, and the fact that I’d never get any sleep playing stuff like this.
