Achy
Wednesday, February 28th, 2007 at 12:03 amOne of our authors is also a yoga instructor and on Monday she was nice enough to hold a private 2-hour session for the book team.
I love doing yoga, but I don’t enjoying doing it at a gym or at a yoga school, because, honestly, I find the people to be pretentious. Yes, I know there are people who aren’t, but the general vibe is kind of nose-in-the-air. I’m not down with that.
If I want to do yoga, I do it at home to DVDs. That’s how I do most of my exercises. And even though I work out on a regular basis, that class on Monday kicked my ass — and it was beginner level! I had no problem at the time holding the poses and doing the breathing correctly, but when I got home, I could hardly keep my eyes open. I grabbed whatever was quickest to make for dinner — pasta with leftover grilled tofu, and frozen artichoke hearts — then went to bed.
In the morning, I had aches in places I had forgotten all about. I seriously did not think that I would be sore, but oh man! Then I had to go into work and pack up the majority of my belongings and move them to my new office a few floors up. I am feeling the pain now!
But even with the aches, I’m happy I went. The class was held in one of our large conference rooms in the Flatiron Building right at the thin point of the building (the room is triangular). There’s windows along two walls with spectacular views of the city. And the sun was setting, so it was really beautiful and relaxing. There’s talk that we could get to attend this [free!!!] class once a month. Hopefully, it won’t always kick my ass.
Hmm … what else? Let’s see, achy body, moving to a new office, JLo … oh, I start my new position on Thursday! I really can’t wait. I’ve been doing some training when I can and so far, I really think I’m going to dig the new job. Best part — I’m getting 2 laptops: a PC and a 17-inch Mac Book Pro. Yeah, I’m getting a Mac again!
On another note, why is JLo always invited to present at the Academy Awards? Every year I wonder that, but have yet to find out the reason. If anyone has a reasonable explanation, please enlighten me.

The bigger question is how JLo has so many top 10 hits here and the UK? Girl can’t sing to save her life!
Yay for yoga, yay for your new position (congratulations my love), yay for getting a brand new mac laptop, boo for soreness, boo for JLo.
Yoga in the Flatiron building? Your life is way way more interesting than mine
I want to get a Mac Book and may still. But my new laptop might just wind up being a PC for work. Oh well.
