27 Days To Go
Monday, September 15th, 2008 at 12:38 pmFor some reason, my archives are showing up in reverse order. Not sure why, but at least it seems like they’re all still there.
Dave left for India this weekend and I’m happy to report he’s safely checked in to his lovely hotel room and got through the 20 or so hour flight just fine.
There’s a 9 1/2-hour time difference between New York and India, so we’re still working out the details on when we’re going to talk, etc. Thank the lord for technology, because we were able to video skype for two hours yesterday.
Can’t believe he’ll be going for 28 days. It’s Day 2 and I’m already missing him. Our lives are so intertwined, it’s weird that he’s not here sitting in his computer chair or laying next to me on the couch flanked by our two kitties. It’s all so quiet.
I haven’t had too much time to dwell on his departure because, 1) I’ve been sick since Friday; 2) I have my day job to do; and 3) I have our website to run (www.geeksofdoom.com for those of you unaware). It’s all very time consuming; plus, cold medicine knocks you out.
So although I’m not “dwelling,” he is constantly on my mind. I’m really proud of him not only because his company felt that he was the best person to go out there and train their people out there, but also because he was brave enough to make sure a big journey in a foreign land while he’s suffering from ulcers!
He’s truly one of a kind.
